Over the next eight weeks, 20 of our Peacebuilders’ youth will participate in a unique partnership between COMPASS Youth Collaborative and Hartford Hospital. Twice a week, dressed in Peacebuilders scrub tops, the youth will gather at Hartford Hospital to take part in sessions that will cover topics ranging from Stop the Bleed to Healthy Relationships. The group will also have the opportunity to hear from a trauma surgeon, learn CPR and discuss the effects of social media on their lives. The program will be capped off with a presentation on Healthcare Careers and How to Get There. Providing opportunities that help youth become ready, willing and able to succeed in education, employment and life is our mission, this program is just one of the ways we fulfill that mission. We think there are some future nurses, x-ray technicians and maybe even a surgeon or two in this group!
