Staffing Update: Promotion for Elizabeth Giannetta-Ramos; new hires announced for COMPASS at Burns Latino Studies Academy

Effective January 1st, 2018, Elizabeth (Liz) Giannetta-Ramos will be promoted to serve as the Director of Partnerships and Community Relations. Within this role, Liz will oversee all corporate and community partnerships, and will facilitate volunteer efforts across all COMPASS programs.

This position was created with Liz in mind, to bolster COMPASS’ capacity for resource development. Liz has extraordinary gifts for brokering meaningful relationships to improve youth outcomes. As a 16-year-old, she lobbied for the youth center that would eventually give way to COMPASS and has been a mainstay at the agency ever since. Throughout her COMPASS career, she has held a variety of positions: for the past seven years, she served as the Community Schools Director at Burns Latino Studies Academy, and prior to that, worked as the Director at Asian Studies Academy Dwight-Belizzi.

“Since the beginning, Liz has been my sidekick,” notes COMPASS Chief Executive Officer Robert Pawloski. “I’ve seen her grow from a young high school organizer to a preeminent figure in youth development in Hartford. We could not be more excited about her professional development, and the positive impact that she will continue to have at COMPASS.”

In light of Liz’s departure from Burns, COMPASS would also like to announce that Anthony Daddona, the current COMPASS Program Coordinator, will take over as the Community School Director. Anthony brings a wealth of youth development experience to the role. He joined COMPASS in January of 2016 from the YMCA of Greater Springfield, where he worked as the West District Director of Education. Joining Anthony will be Jose Figueroa, the new COMPASS Program Coordinator. Jose is a Hartford native and a University of Connecticut graduate. He previously supervised after-school programs through City Year Los Angeles.
